{ Olivia }

1. Right now everything is "so weird."
Not sure where she picked that up,
but it's hilarious.
2. Another hilarious thing is this weird
fake laugh that she does.
Love it.
3. We had her end of school evaluation on Monday.
She excelled in every area they test for
and they reassured me that we have a smart cookie
on our hands.
Of course I already knew that,
but it was nice to be reminded. ;)
4. Her favorite song right now is
"10 Little Monkeys."
We sing it multiple times every day.
5. She's been sleeping much better
and in her room again, thank goodness.

{ Lola }

1. My big girl is now 9 lb 13 oz
and 21 inches long.
2. We've been able to start nursing by using
a shield!
Her latch is still terrible,
but at least this makes the pain way
less noticeable.
3. She has a strawberry birth mark
on the top of her head
that I just noticed a few days ago.
4. She's starting to smile more and more.
5. We had our first blow out today.
I'm thinking maybe it was my fault
and maybe I didn't have her diaper
tight enough?
Either way, I'm hoping those won't
be a regular occurrence!

Lola: 1 Month

Lola turned a month old today.
I already can't imagine life without her.
She's made us more of a family
and we're all obsessed with her.
At her check up today,
she was 9lbs 13oz
and 21 inches long.

Leija Littles

{ Olivia }

1. She has a little kitty
(seen in bottom right corner)
that she insists on taking everywhere recently.
2. She's loved being Daddy's little helper
in the yard this week.
She got to help water the grass after
the fertilizer was spread.
3.  We finally found her some ballet slippers
and she will not take them off!
She wears them everywhere except school
and that's just because I won't let her.
4. She told me today she wants another
baby sister.
She said Lola needs a little sister too.
5. Short story: Tonight she was complaining
of her eye hurting. She had her hand over it
and crying for hours.
Finally I was able to pry it open and
saw that a clump of her upper eyelashes
were matted together and stuck under her bottom
eyelid.
Poor baby.
The curses of having long beautiful lashes.

{ Lola }

1. Lola loves to be swaddled.
Some evenings it's the only way to keep
her calm.
2. Today I discovered what we think may
be a red birthmark on the top
of her head.
3. Her poor little cheeks are breaking out
because she spits up so much.
4. She's actually liking bath time lately.
Thank God.
Makes Mama's job so much easier.
It's when she gets out that she starts
crying like crazy.
5. Her eyes have yet to change.
They're still a pretty light gray/blue.
We're still hoping she's gonna end up
with Mama's eyes!

Lazy Sunday

This past Sunday was one of the best.
Luis and Olivia went to get donuts in the morning
so that I could sleep in a bit.
Then they cut the yard while I cleaned up inside.
We went to Lowe's and did some yard work
and that was it!
Love days like that.

Leija Littles

{ Olivia }

1. She keeps saying she wants to have a ballerina
birthday party this year.
2. Bedtime has been awful lately.
She hasn't been falling asleep until around midnight.
3. I want to forever remember the way she says "kiss."
She pronounces it "pwiss" and will ask for "pwissies."
I love it.
4. Her current favorite show on Netflix is
Powder Puff Girls.
5. Poor girl needs some male barbies.
She pretends that some of the girls are princes.

{ Lola }

1. We've started to experience the "witching hour."
Every evening between about 5 and 7
she's pretty inconsolable.
I end up walking around the house with her most evenings.
2. We moved up to size 1 diapers this week.
3. She's starting to fit into her 0-3 month clothing and
out growing the newborn.
4. She spits up so much more than Olivia did!
I'm going to have to invest in burp cloths.
I never used them with Olivia so didn't think they
would be necessary this time around.
5. She's still waking up every 2-3 hours at night.

{ Olivia }

1. Sometimes I feel like I have a teenager instead of
a 3 year old.
The other day Olivia was mad about something and told me,
"You're mean. Don't talk to me."
And then went to her room and shut the door behind her.
2. She hasn't been eating much lately.
She goes through phases like this every so often
but it still freaks me out.
3. Her Tia pretended she was going to take Lola and keep
her the other day and Olivia FREAKED out.
She screamed and cried for me to hurry and get Lola back.
4. She asks about fire works constantly.
It makes me really excited for summer and the 4th of July
knowing how much she'll love it this year.
5. She found our hidden nutella.
So now when she does eat, that's all she wants.

{ Lola }

1. At her appointment last week she had gained 3 oz.
Most breastfed babies have lost weight by their first check up,
so she's definitely a chunky little thing.
2. Her cord stump fell off on Saturday at 12 days old.
Olivia's fell off at 11 days.
3. She drinks 2-3oz (or sometimes more) every 2-3 hours of my
expressed breastmilk.
I can't imagine how someone so little can be so hungry!
4. She had her first bath on Sunday
and didn't seem to like it much.
5. After her bath, we were surprised to see
some curls pop up on her head!
Maybe she'll get her daddy's hair.

First Bath

Miss Lola had her first bath
last night.
I don't think she was loving it,
but it could be that she
was just hungry, ha.
Olivia had to help, of course.
:)
We were surprised to see that her hair
is actually really curly
now that it's clean!

Visit from Sarah

My sister, Sarah, came to Houston
with a friend this past weekend.
Sarah lives in Louisiana and we don't
get to see her often enough.
We got breakfast together
and then just hung out at the house for the
afternoon before returning
her to her hotel in Houston.

Leija Littles

{ Olivia }

1. She puts on "princess concerts"
where she prances around in a princess dress and heels
and we tell her how beautiful she looks.
2. She's always asking to hold Lola.
3. We've dealt with some jealousy.
Sometimes when I'm holding Lola,
she'll beg to sit in my lap.
4. She's been asking me to brush her hair
multiple times per day so that it will
grow long like Tangled.
5. My mom bought her a princess dress that
she wears pretty much 24/7.

{ Lola }

1. She poops after or during every feeding.
2. She's opening her eyes more and more.
I'm obsessed with how pretty they are.
3. She almost never cries.
The only times have been when I take too
long to feed her.
4. Her skin is much lighter than Olivia's.
She's actually really similar to my color.
5. Her latch never improved
so I started pumping so that my supply
wouldn't suffer.
As of now, she takes only expressed milk.

Easter Sunday

Olivia woke up early on Easter.
Really early- 7:45am.
Considering I didn't go to bed until 2
and then was up every hour with a new baby,
I was pretty exhausted.
But she saw her Easter basket,
so there was no going back. :)

I didn't go crazy on Easter baskets this year.
Both girls got 8 small things.
And Olivia had to open Lola's basket,
of course.

Olivia got to go to church with Maria and Erica
while Luis and I stayed home with Lola.
After they got out of church,
we met up at Jose's family's house
for BBQ and an Easter egg hunt
We were only there about 2 hours,
mostly because I'm not quite up to doing much yet,
but we still had a great holiday.
