Lola: 3 Months

Lola Lu is 3 months old today.
A quarter of a year.
Holy crap.

I know I've said it before,
but she really is the best baby.
She lets Olivia hug all up on her
and never so much as whines.
She's the light of our eyes
and we can't imagine life without her.

1. She loves to get into my makeup.
She filled in her eyebrows this morning.
2. She's still dressing herself most days.
3. She is definitely her mother's daughter.
Her new thing is eating peanut butter by the spoonful.
No idea where she got that from ;)
4. Yesterday, in the middle of one of her melt downs,
she told me,
"Mommy, I'm having a sad day!"
5. I gave her a haircut for the first time in well
over a year the other night.
I cut about two inches off and she was SO excited.

{ Lola }

1. It's rare, but she chuckles every once in a while.
It's seriously the cutest thing ever.
2. I'm thinking she may have a shell fish intolerance.
I noticed a few specs of blood in her dirty diaper
the other day after eating Red Lobster the night before.
Nothing since, thank goodness.
3. This girl has crazy blow outs.
Sometimes they're so bad that the only option
is to put her in the bath.
4. She's such a good sleeper at night.
Not sure how I got so lucky in that department
twice in a row.
She never even fully wakes up,
just eats enough to put her in a deep sleep again.
5. She always has boogers in her nose!
I have to suction them out multiple times a day.
Fortunately, she doesn't seem to mind.

Summer mornings

Mornings around here
(or should I say afternoons?)
are really laid back.

^^ Coffee while the girls sleep in. My "me" time each day. ^^

^^Mood music and breakfast for everyone. Even Lola ;) ^^

^^Morning reads. ^^

I know one day I'll want to
look back and see how we spent this first
summer as a family of four.

I'm already daydreaming of next summer
when Lola will be in toddler mode
and we can do more adventurous
summer things.

Britt Can't Quit

Britt can't quit: roasting veggies.

Broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts.
I love them all,
but the asparagus was especially delicious.

Set oven to 425.
Chop asparagus in thirds.
Toss in olive oil.
Put on baking sheet.
Sprinkle with kosher salt.
Cook for 30 minutes.

It's that simple
and oh so good.

*The name started out as a joke between Luis and I, but then BAM. Genius.
This will be a weekly spot for me to talk about whatever I'm currently
obsessing over.*

Leija Littles

{ Olivia }

1. She's been watching a ton of Power Rangers lately,
which thrills Luis.
2. This past weekend I was telling her to get off the trampoline
and her reply was,
"I can't! My legs are going crazy!"
3. Poor baby wants to spend more time outside,
but the mosquitos and other bugs have been just awful.
4. I'm dealing with Mastitis at the moment
and she has been so great about letting me rest.
5. She dresses herself practically every day now.

{ Lola }

1. We bought her size 6 months dresses this past weekend.
I didn't think they would fit well yet, but they're perfect.
2. She loves looking at her toes when I
pick up her legs.
3. She's approximately 14 pounds, according to our home scale.
4. She's the best baby when we're out and about.
It makes our never-home lifestyle
much more enjoyable.
5. She's been sleeping a whole lot the last few days.
I'm thinking we're in the middle of a growth spurt.

Father's Day

We spent Father's Day getting brunch at
Country Cafe, buying groceries, baking a cake,
and then eating burgers at Maria's.

^^ Daddy and his girls. Couldn't get Livi and Lola to look at the same time. ^^

^^ Olivia insisted on a pink cake with pink sprinkles for Dad. ^^

^^ She was so proud :) ^^

Dresses of summers past.

We're a big fan of the summer dress around here.
I mean, there really isn't anything
as comfortable or breathable in this Texas heat.

^^ Baby Livi and Ari in 2010 ^^

I've saved pretty much all of Olivia's dresses for Lola.
I just don't have any for the age she is now.
I plan starting her collection this weekend.

^^ 2011 ^^

^^ 2012 ^^

It's pretty much impossible to get Olivia out of
dresses and skirts these days anyway.
Makes my job a little easier. ;)

*I've been editing all my photos with an app called VSCO. Love it.*

Leija Littles

 { Olivia }

1. She's started wearing Lola's clothes.
It drives me crazy.
She squeezes her little booty in size 3-6 month skirts.
2. She keeps saying that she's going to have
two sisters and one brother.
3. She has been staying up waaay too late.
The other night, she fell asleep at 9,
woke up at 11:30,
and the was up until 5:30am!
4. She gets mad if we call her cute.
She prefers to be called beautiful.
5. She is now addicted to looking up ballerina
stuff on Pinterest.

{ Lola }

1. She's doing lots of baby talk lately.
And she is LOUD!
2. She loves to watch TV just like her big sister.
3. And she also loves to sit up.
I can't wait until she's big enough for a bumbo.
4. I'm pretty sure she has a dimple on her right cheek.
It's just hard to tell with all the chub.
5. Her evening fits are getting better and better.
Maybe the end is in sight!

\

I love these two sisters!

Graduation Weekend

This weekend we watched Jamie and Gabby both graduate.
Jamie's was on Friday and Gabby on Saturday.
So thankful they were on different nights and we didn't
have to split up.
And so so proud of both of them.
We love you!
