Christmas Day

Since we got all the house hopping done on Christmas Eve,
Christmas Day was way more relaxed.
Olivia ran into our room at 8:30
(I'm surprised she even slept that long)
and was SO excited to see that Santa really did stop.
She had told me before that she didn't think he
would because she hadn't been listening. Ha.

I try very hard not to buy in excess for the kids.
I'm not one to buy junk gifts just for the sake of more presents under the tree.
I stuck to my list and the girls loved everything.

It was so fun to see the girls both get excited this year.
Lola still doesn't really get it, but she knows that toys are exciting
and that definitely made it more exciting for us, too!
And I just love their matching pajamas. I am that mom.
And I'm honestly kind of sad that this is the last year for Olivia to wear
from the toddler section and I can't make all three match next year. Ha.

After presents, the girls played and I got to cooking my contribution.
We had decided on an Italian theme this year
at the Leija Christmas and it was delicious.

Olivia and Lola stayed in pjs the entire day.
The weather was only slightly cool, so the kids played outside
on the trampoline most of the day.
The grown ups pretty much just ate and watched movies.
It really was a very nice and enjoyable Christmas day.

Forever grateful for this little family of mine.

Christmas Eve

Of the two days we celebrate Christmas, Christmas Eve was by far our busiest.
We slept in and then got ready and headed to my mom's.
My step dad and sister both ended up having to work at the last minute,
but we enjoyed our time with my mom and my grandma.
After her house, we headed to my dad's side.
I didn't get any pictures there, but the girls enjoyed all of their gifts.

We then headed next door for Mexican food and cookie making for the kiddos.
Olivia was a pro cookie decorator and made at least 10.

We came home early-ish so that the girls could open their Christmas pajamas and bathe.
We made beignets for Santa, read Christmas stories,
and after an eternity of trying to get Livi to sleep
(she was so excited about Santa that she couldn't sleep, or so she said)
Santa finally made his visit.

Hussle and bussle

Life tends to get pretty hectic this time of year. Sometimes in a good way, sometimes not so much. But here are a few recent moments that I've thoroughly enjoyed:

We took Olivia with us to a wedding and she loved getting to do grown up stuff with us. And, I mean, how freaking cute did she look? Her favorite part was dancing with the bride. She danced the night away.

There is nothing I can say that will do this picture justice. Gosh, I love that little Lola.

Two kiddos napping at the exact same time? A Christmas miracle!

The other night we picked up Starbucks hot chocolates and Olivia was thrilled to get her own mini size. That girl loves some hot chocolate. We drove around and looked at Christmas lights and it was by far my favorite year so far. Every time Lola spotted some, she would yell, "Tree!" I guess because the Christmas tree has lights? Haha. Olivia just went on and on about how beautiful they were. Her favorite was a local house that has its lights synced to music.

Every year around Christmas, I get together with my bffs for some girl talk. We try to get together during the year as well, obviously, but this Christmas meet up has pretty much become mandatory. This year did not disappoint.

And because I am queen of comparison photos, these are the past four years.

I hope you all have a very merry and family-filled Christmas!

Company Christmas Party

The third annual STC Christmas party was a success. Even though the dress I ordered for it never made it in. Hmph.

Can't wait to not be pregnant next year ;)

Feliz Navidad!

Olivia had her annual Christmas program at school today. I'm pretty positive it's the exact same play every year, but the kids don't seem to remember that.

This year, being in the 4s class, Olivia got to be a wise man. She was a lot more shy than I expected her  to be, especially after being so pumped about her cheerleading performances.

After the program, we went to her classroom for their little Christmas party. Olivia enjoyed the food and Lola was just loving being at Livi's "cool." She played and played the entire time we were there, her favorite part being the toy kitchen. I'm so excited for her to attend next year.

And now it's officially winter break here! We don't have much planned other than some cookie baking and holiday movie watching. Oh, and sleeping in. ;)

Amaryllis turns 1!

We celebrated my cousin's daughter, Amaryllis, on Saturday. Bethanie and I grew up being more like sisters than cousins, so I was over the moon that not only would our kids be close in age, but that they were all girls too!

I can't wait to watch them grow close and really get to play together!
